Learn about the value of CIELO
What is CIELO?
CIELO, formerly known as Global Experiential Learning (GEL) is a transformational program that integrates travel, global education, and service learning to empower students with knowledge and skill sets to utilize as they continue their careers at UArizona and beyond.
CIELO actively seeks to provide a valuable holistic student experience in the form of short-term trips both domestically and abroad. Themes of interdisciplinary learning are explored through CIELO programming.
Our mission is to make global experiential learning programs accessible and affordable, providing short trips, scholarships, and additional funding. Our innovative tiered structure is inclusive of local, domestic, and international programming.
Our Model
CIELO invites all University of Arizona students to participate in this innovative global experiential learning program that spans domestic and international locations. CIELO fosters shorter and affordable experiences throughout the year.
