The application for the G.A.T.E. Funding Opportunities is now closed.
The AZ HSI GATE funding opportunities will support individuals and teams from single AZ HSIs in leading efforts that align with the aims of the AZ HSI Consortium and provide a direct response to either of the two funding tracks below. A desired outcome of funded projects include a subsequent readiness to pursue competitive proposals to the NSF and other federal agencies and foundations.
AZ HSI GATE offers two funding tracks:
- Track 1
- Purpose: Awards will support projects at Arizona HSIs that identify barriers to and within higher education for Latinx learners, engage in institutional problem solving, implement solutions that support Latinx learner success, and document how change at Arizona HSIs was implemented.
- Funding: Five $20,000 awards
- Source: Helios Education Foundation
- Track 2
- Purpose: Awards will support projects at Arizona HSIs that stimulate and support equity-focused change and research that enriches our understanding of effective and culturally responsive practices for broadening participation in STEM at HSIs.
- Funding: Four $25,000 awards
- Source: National Science Foundation (award #2311013)
