Arizona Science, Engineering and Mathematics Scholars (ASEM)
ASEM supports students graduating with a STEM major, especially women and first-generation, low-income and underrepresented students. 

College of Medicine Phoenix, Office of Diversity and Inclusion
The office is committed to promoting and supporting diversity and inclusion in its research, and clinical and educational missions. 

College of Medicine Tucson, Office of Diversity and Inclusion
The office provides support services and programming for medical and other health professions students to nurture a diverse healthcare workforce.

Dean of Students Office
The office offers programs and services to support students’ academic, personal and professional development. 

Graduate Diversity Programs
Prospective graduate students can find information on research opportunities, workshops and funding sources.

Maximizing Access to Research Careers Program (MARC)
The MARC Program is a research, mentoring, financial and academic opportunity for undergraduates belonging to groups underrepresented in biomedical research and who plan to pursue a PhD.

Minority Health Disparities (MHD)
This summer research opportunity focuses on health issues that affect underrepresented communities.

Office for Fellowships and Community Engagement (OFCE)
The OFCE helps graduate students search and apply for funding opportunities outside of the UA.

Office of Institutional Equity
The office fosters equity and opportunity, strengthens relationships across diverse groups, and supports a campus culture of equality for all members of the university community.

Step-Up Program

This is a research program designed to provide 55 undergraduate and 54 Masters’ degree seeking students with an intensive, 12-week summer research experience in cancer prevention and control.

Student Affairs Research Program (STAR)
STAR is a year-round undergraduate research and mentoring program for students who come from backgrounds underrepresented in graduate education and are interested in pursuing a research-oriented graduate degree.

Summer Research Institute (SRI)
This summer program provides an opportunity to learn how to conduct research and prepare for graduate studies at UA.

THINK TANK!
This program, which includes the Writing Center, provides math and science tutoring, weekly course reviews, supplemental instruction, academic skills tutoring and more.

Undergraduate Research Opportunities Consortium (UROC) — PREP Program
This year-round undergraduate research and mentoring program is for students who come from backgrounds underrepresented in graduate education and are interested in pursuing a research oriented graduate degree.

Writing Skills Improvement Program (WSIP)
Established over 30 years ago, WSIP offers free writing workshops and one-on-one tutoring.

 

Leadership

Blue Chip Leadership
Participants in this program develop leadership skills, as well as learn how to create competitive resumes and portfolios. 

Tomorrow’s Leaders Equipped for Diversity Program (MIS)
This program helps students become leaders who are equipped to solve problems and leverage the benefits of diversity.

 

Residence Life

Cultural Learning Communities
Students who identify as African American/Black, Asian Pacific American or Native American/American Native can choose to participate in one of UA’s three learning communities.

Social Justice and Diversity, Residence Life
Residence Life offers programs to foster social justice and create safe and inclusive environments in residence halls.

Social Justice Community in Pima Hall
This community provides a safe space in Pima Hall where students can discuss their differences and pluralistic identities without fear of slurs, attacks or discrimination.
