What Do We Mean by Bilingual?
Bilingualism encompasses the ability to communicate, learn, teach, work, and engage across two or more languages. At the University of Arizona, bilingual initiatives may include academic programs, courses, research, professional development, student support, community engagement, and other opportunities that recognize and build upon multilingual knowledge and skills.
Advancing Bilingualism at the University of Arizona
As a Hispanic Serving Institution, the University of Arizona recognizes the linguistic and cultural assets that students, faculty, staff, and communities bring to our campus. Bilingualism is an important part of our commitment to student success, belonging, academic excellence, and engagement with the communities we serve.
