Melissa Acuña (she/her) serves as the Peer Navigator for Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) Initiatives at the University of Arizona.  She is most excited to work with other departments at the University on new projects and developing new opportunities. Her role at HSI will allow her to use her experiences to grow and assist her peers. Melissa is a Senior who is majoring with Honors in Philosophy, Politics, Economics and Law. She has volunteered and worked with multiple political campaigns as Hispanic Outreach Coordinator.  She has also served as an Area Manager Intern with Amazon and as a Hispanas for Political Equity and Latina Leadership Member with HOPE. As a first generation student and daugther to immigrants, Melissa believes that helping and teaching others is important. Melissa hopes to attend law school in the future and become an Immigraton Attorney. Melissa is a Tucson native. 

Melissa will graduate in May 2023 with a bachelor's degree with honors in Philosophy, Politics, Economics and Law and a minor in Government and Public Policy from the University of Arizona.
