Aimée is a proud Chicana, born and raised in the City of South Tucson. She has a strong love for her community and spends much of her time doing work within it. She currently serves as a student assistant in the Office of Hispanic Serving Institution (HIS) Initiatives and is also a college mentor for high school students at Cholla High. She also volunteers time to help organize this year’s City of South Tucson Family Festival. In her free time, Aimée enjoys spending time with her 3 dogs, reading romance novels, embroidering, and being surrounded by her friends and family.

Aimée is currently an undergraduate senior at the University of Arizona majoring in Political Science and Mexican American Studies with a minor in Spanish and will be graduating in May of 2023. She is passionate about access, equity, and inclusion in education for all students, especially students historically marginalized populations such as, students of color, first generation college students, high financial need students, and undocumented students which is why upon graduation, Aimée intends to pursue a masters of public policy, with emphasis in education policy and a PhD in higher education with the goal of eliminating barriers and increasing the pathways to quality education.
