Program description:
Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory with its own unique culture and environment. The Dominican Republic is a Caribbean nation known for it's history, culture and natural wonders. Experience Puerto Rican & Dominican culture through food, art, and dance while exploring natural wonders like hiking in El Yunque National Rainforest and going on a late night Bioluminescent Kayak tour. Embark through Los Tres Ojos caves and experience a catamaran tour of Isla Saona. Participating in Service Learning projects such as home reconstruction and improvements.
This program offers students from the University of Arizona a unique opportunity to experience and learn about Puerto Rico & Dominican Republic in a firsthand way. Participants will engage with Puerto Rican & Dominican history, culture, and government through service learning, community/cultural engagement, dialogue, and reflection.
