The mission of the Latinx Faculty & Staff Association at the University of Arizona is to build community among the Latinx faculty, staff and other interested professionals, by empowering employees regardless of discipline or rank. Through voice, support, and service – we will foster an inclusive workplace in the spirit of culture and the advancement of personal and professional growth.

We are a community comprised of and for all Latinx faculty and staff. We welcome guests and families to our open functions and programs.

Our Association was established in 2021 and charged with building a sense of community and belonging through the empowerment of the Latinx identity, values and goals.

Through servingness, strategically leveraging campus resources, and finding joy – we can expand the potential of our faculty and staff.

Outreach, Distance, and Continuing Education- NOVEMBER CASITA!!

Location: The Refinery @UA Tech Park (3rd floor)- 1600 E. Idea Ln.

Join us for a casita with Bonnie Taylor, Director of Outreach and Business Affairs, to learn about outreach and continuing education for UA students and the community. Enjoy pastries, lemonade, and connect with fellow members! RSVP HERE. As The Refinery is off-campus, please use the Cat Tran RED Route for transportation (see attached map).

LatinX Faculty & Staff Association's Posada

This year, one of LFSA’s goals has been to connect with Latinx businesses and organizations throughout Tucson, aiming to make a positive impact not only within the UA but also in the broader community. To support this goal, we are thrilled to be hosting our first Posada! Through this event and the generous donations we’re receiving, our aim is to raise funds to partner with and support Scholarships A-Z.

The event will feature a live musical performance, a guest speaker, a raffle, champurrado and snacks!

Mini-Grant Funding Now Open!

 

The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is accepting applications for Mini-Grant funding. University of Arizona departments, programs, individual faculty, staff, and graduate students are eligible to apply. Grants will be awarded based on the project's expected impact, and an Accounting Information form is required. Funds will be awarded in February 2025. Please share widely!

Danielle will provide an in-depth overview of the Fulbright US Scholar Program, including application steps, eligibility requirements, and campus resources available to support applicants. Digital Borderlands Faculty Fellowship Program - Applications Open!
Application Deadline: January 24, 2025
Apply now for the Digital Borderlands in the Classroom Faculty Fellowship Program and Summer Institute! This fellowship supports UA faculty in integrating digital, data, and archival literacies into coursework focused on the U.S.-Mexico borderlands. You'll receive training, consultation, and $9,000 in funding
