Maestro Cares Foundation Scholarship
Empowering Students. Strengthening Communities.
The Maestro Cares Foundation, founded by international pop icon Marc Anthony and prominent entrepreneur Henry Cárdenas is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for disadvantaged youth and communities in Latin America and the United States. Through housing, education, and healthcare initiatives, the foundation creates opportunities that empower children and young adults to become future leaders and changemakers.
Purpose & Importance
The Maestro Cares Foundation Scholarship is designed to promote equal opportunity in higher education by supporting students with high academic potential and significant financial need. It provides essential financial support to students who are dedicated to uplifting Latino communities and pursuing STEM fields.
By helping students access and complete their education, this scholarship cultivates the next generation of leaders committed to equity, innovation, and community service.
The Maestro Cares Foundation Scholarship seeks students who are:
- Academically driven with a strong record of performance in the classroom
- Passionate about serving Latino communities through leadership, volunteering, or advocacy
- Committed to careers in STEM fields that contribute to meaningful social, environmental, or scientific impact
- Resilient and determined, having overcome obstacles to pursue higher education
- Active contributors to inclusive, diverse academic and community environments

Internship
Position Type: CIELO Intern
Hours/Week: 10
Salary: Unpaid
This role allows student interns to gain hands-on experience in program management and coordination in short-term experiential learning opportunities. Through this internship, students will coordinate CIELO Arizona-based programs, such as the Community Connections Series, and will be provided with meaningful opportunities to contribute to the success of our more extensive domestic and international programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in implementing CIELO programs and activities, which include but are not limited to:
- Program Implementation & Evaluation:
- Coordinate and implement CIELO Raising Arizona & Community Connections events
- Participating in CIELO Raising Arizona & Community Connections events
- Support data and feedback collection through pre- and post-assessment surveys
- Assist in refining CIELO Raising Arizona & Communication Connections programming
- Assist research and assessment efforts for all CIELO programs and events
- Assist in grant-related efforts, including but not limited to grant searching and writing, and reviewing grant applications
- Communications, Outreach, & Media:
- Support social media management and content creation
- Develop materials such as flyers, reels, and marketing campaigns to promote CIELO programs
- Coordinate partnerships with community members and organizations
- Represent CIELO at campus partner events and share information about CIELO
- Coordinate informational sessions across campus and represent CIELO at tabling events
- Help document and share stories highlighting the impact CIELO has had on participants
- Other duties as assigned
